11 Things Critical to Every Marketing Email

Email. It’s such a powerful tool that more and more small businesses are capitalizing on it. One of the most difficult things for many small, inexperienced business owners or managers to overcome, though, is not just the content of the email, but avoiding the spam folder. Some of the best spam filters, like Everycloudtech spam filter, can make it difficult, even if the person receiving the email has signed up to receive them.

In order to be as successful as possible, it is absolutely crucial to have at least 11 things in every single marketing email. They are as follows:

1. A good, solid purpose.

If you’re just trying to get people to buy your products or services, email marketing isn’t going to be that effective. People want to see some valuable information and a key reason why they should follow a link you provide in the email.

2. A great subject line.

The first thing anyone will see is the subject line. If this is not eye-catching, inspiring, and draws them in, this email could get lost in hundreds or even thousands of others.

3. A great design.

Visual appeal is essential for email. Sure, there are still plenty of people around the world who use basic email programs that ignore HTML and other design features, but you should always start with a great design.

Keep it simple, but well designed. That way it will open as you designed it, quickly and efficiently.

4. Good organization.

Depending on the length of the email, a table of contents could be a great idea. Short emails won’t need this, but the organization of the email itself should be exceptional.

5. A website link.

Some call to action is absolutely crucial to a marketing email. If you don’t have one included, then what’s the point of the email? What is your target audience going to do with this? You want to make it as easy for them as possible to get to your website’s landing page.

6. Exceptional content.

If you don’t know how to structure content properly to keep your audience engaged, meaning grabbing them from the first few words and sentences and keeping their eyes moving down the email, then you should hire somebody to write content for you.

7. A quality tip or fact.

The more viable, valuable, and reliable information you can include in the email, the more likely your target market will engage with it and even save it for future reference (if they are not going to act right away).

8. A personality.

Your email is an extension of your business. People want to connect with businesses in a relationship-style atmosphere. As a result, your marketing email better have a good personality to it.

9. Links to your social media accounts.

What? You don’t have social media? What are you waiting for? This is the time to get serious about your marketing campaign. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and so many others are vital components to business marketing and your email should include them all.

10. An exclusive promotion.

Offer something through this email your target market won’t find anywhere else. When they understand it is exclusive only through this marketing email, they may be more inclined to act.

11. Your signature.

Close with your personal signature. Also make sure to include easy contact information, including a phone number, direct email link, website link, and other pertinent information.

When your marketing email includes these 11 components, it becomes far more potent and effective instantly.
