Business Resolutions for 2019 & Beyond

As a business owner, it is never too late in the year to make resolutions. Whether you jot down a list of goals in December that you want to achieve the following year, or you are inspired to make some changes in the middle of the summer, it is always a great time to take steps to keep your employees more engaged, elevate your brand and help your business to develop even more.

With this in mind, although 2019 is already off to a good — and fast — start, the following five business resolutions are effective ways for millennials to boost the success of their company.

Update Office Security Measures

You have probably read the frightening stories about workplace shootings and other scary incidents. Chances are good your team has also seen them. While you don’t want to instill a sense of fear among your employees, you do want to take some tangible steps to update your office security measures. Employees who feel safe at work are more likely to be engaged in what they are doing, so they will definitely also appreciate updating security measures both inside and out. Lorex Technology offers a wide selection of state-of-the-art security camera systems that are user friendly and affordable. You don’t have to sign a contract with them to purchase their cameras, and their 4K cameras offer the best resolution security video available. Their security camera systems also keep track of all motion events; this way, if you notice something unusual, the timeline of motion can be easily retrieved to discover what happened.

Expand Your Knowledge

Another great goal for millennial business owners is to learn something new, and encourage your team to join you. What you want to decide to focus on can be connected to your company or it can be entirely unrelated. Either way, expanding your knowledge is a terrific way to add some skills to your repertoire as well as your team’s resumes, and it can help all of your team to achieve a nice work-life balance. If you work with a business consultant, ask him or her for advice on what skills would be best to learn, or you can poll your employees to see what they would like to do. Spending time with your team learning a new language, being taught coding skills or maybe even taking a gourmet cooking class together can help you bond as a group while boosting your knowledge.

Give Back to the Community

Another way to help your employees to feel more engaged in your company is by arranging for ways for everyone to give back to the community. You can enable your employees to have dedicated volunteer hours that are part of their workdays; for example, they can take several paid half days throughout the year and volunteer in small groups at a number of organizations. Giving back to the community can also help to grow your brand, especially if you and your team wear company shirts while volunteering and you post pictures on social media. You can help by organizing opportunities for you and your employees to volunteer together at non-profits and other places and events that need help.

2019 Will Be a Great Year

Whether your company is just getting off the ground or you have been a business owner for many years, there are things you can do to improve your team’s morale and your success. By remembering that it is always a good time to make resolutions and trying the aforementioned suggestions, 2019 is sure to be a banner year for you, your employees and your business.
